The second year of FLIP FOR ART was a lively evening to raise funds for public art in Salem. Over 250 party guests turned out to bid on more than 70 twice-loved artworks and top-flight wines, and we recognized local citizens who have contributed to the vibrancy of the Salem art scene.
The 2018 silent auction featured all types of fine art and craft. Over 30 donors contributed works to shape the event. Event décor designed by Jan Gassner and Mary Lou Zeek made for a festive environment.
We recognized longtime leaders for their involvement in the arts in Salem: artists Sandra (sloy) and Dave (sic) Nichols; activists Madge and Keith Bauer; and arts patron and developer Paul Gehlar. Each received an original print created by and donated by Jon Jay Cruson of Eugene.
